Our Trip To The Local Amish

We frequent our local Amish Community in Etheridge TN, also known as Amish Country to buy fresh vegetables. Right now there are only a few things to choose from but I love to go visit! I snapped a few pictures from the car and made sure not to get any face pics of any of the Amish to respect their beliefs

It was a beautiful day to hang some clothes on the line!

I LOVED this house on Tom Lane. He had so many farm animals and we went right at "birthing season" so I got to see all sorts of babies including pigs and goats! Not to mention the fresh turnip greens and spinach, and the best homemade tomato juice!

The ground is ready for planting

He was traveling to the home of the next picture to help I would assume

True teamwork

The horses came over to greet us as we were leaving

It was a beautiful day and I cannot wait to go back when all of the vegetables are ready for sale. I encourage anyone with an Amish Community nearby to take a visit. It makes for a great family outing.

  1. Wow! I didn't know y'all had an Amish community out there. That is some beautiful country up there. Great pics! Especially the clothes on the line, I'd have that one framed. It would look great in a country kitchen.

  2. it's only about 30 minutes away on the other side of Columbia. We should totally plan a trip once all the veggies are ready!

  3. The Amish and their lifestyle is remarkable. They are to be respected for wanting to use all the land has for them. They plant their own gardens to grow their own food. They are a deeply religious people whom I respect.Great pictures!

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...
