I just finished week 3 of Nutrisystem. The time is flying by! This week I actually gained a little less than a pound. I'm not very happy about it but I figure that is to be expected from time to time. I'm pretty well dedicated to the program but there are times that I fall a little short of my 1500 calorie plan so that may be some of the problem. I spoke with my counselor this week and she highly recommends that I meet that at least 1500 per day but no more than 1799 so that is a goal that I am working very hard on. I'm definitely getting my water in each day though. I have a 24 oz water bottle that I refill at least 4 times per day so that really helps me. Another positive in my weight loss journey is that my husband is following along. He is doing healthy grocery store meals and adding in the Smart Carbs and Power Fuels that I do in between. He too gained a little this week after losing between 12 and 15 pounds the first 2 weeks. It's a great motivation when you have someone doing it with you! It's almost like a (friendly) challenge between he and I.

Even though I gained a little weight, I've also gained a little knowledge. I'm learning so much about how important portion control is as is my husband. His starting weight was 268 pounds. He would eat at all times of the day and night but it was always too much of everything. My problem was the opposite. I didn't eat as much as I was supposed to, therefore my body held on to every calorie I did consume. I never really gained much weight but I wasn't losing it either until now.

I can tell the most weight loss in my face, stomach and hands now. Before, there were times I could not get my wedding rings off. Now, not only can I get them off, I can put them on my middle finger comfortably! May be time for a sizing soon!

Overall I am still extremely pleased with my weight loss and the Nutrisystem Program and I'm still as motivated as week 1 to keep going!

My starting weight: 198.4
Current Weight: 191.4

GAINED: 0.8 lbs
Lost: 4 inches around the waist

  2. You are doing awesome, and it's great that your hubby decided to get healthy with you! I'm sure that is super helpful! My husband is 6'2 and 140 pounds, so I think if he tried to do this with me, he might vanish lol!

  3. Keep up the good work. A positive attitude will keep you on track. I was down a pound this week, a pound last week, and 7.7 pounds the first week. I'm hoping that maybe next week will be a little better.

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...

Never Go Down Without A Fight: One Mom's Struggle to Fight CPS

Many people don't know a whole lot about my personal life. I normally keep things quiet and just post my reviews and go on about my day. I started this blog to do coupon match ups but quickly found that I liked doing reviews and hosting the amazing giveaways. It pretty much keeps my mind occupied from the struggles I face and have faced daily the past 4 years.  Four years ago (next month) I lost custody of my then 8 year old daughter. She had gone to her Dad's for a 2 week summer visit in July of 09. I let her go a few days early simply because we weren't doing anything big here at home, however I told them that she would probably be needing a visit to the the Dr by the next morning because she had just gotten into some poison ivy and it would probably be spread by the next morning, but if they were willing to take her, then she could come early. The two weeks came and went and I didn't hear much from anyone. They had taken a trip to Panama City Beach so I didn...
