Week 1 of Nutrisystem and the Fast5 #NSNation

Disclosure: I am a part of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program. The below mentioned products were provided free of charge in exchange for my honest review. Please do not start any weight loss or diet regimen before consulting with your physician first.

As part of the Nutrisystem blogger program, I received my 28 day supply of food, along with the Fast5 program. Fast5 changed everything about my life this first week. I could no longer run to the fridge and just grab something that I normally would. No matter the portions. It was strictly their 3 meals with fresh veggies. No fruit. Here is a little play by play of the last 7 days.

Day 1 was ROUGH. I am not one to normally eat before noon so when I had my breakfast muffin, EnergiZING shake, and water all before noon, I found myself to be super hungry throughout the day. I was weak and dizzy, had a headache the entire day and felt just plain BAD all day long but I kept the goals in mind and stuck with it. Despite my many cravings to cheat, I stuck with the plan and moved on to day 2.

I finally got rid of day 1's headache and felt a little better as the day went on. Still not great but better than before. Day 3 was almost a breeze. Especially when I saw that I had lost 4.2 pounds already! I was a little hungry but since we can add in fresh veggies and salsa, I made myself a nice little salad and used salsa instead of dressings. That helped a lot with the hunger and the cravings! I've been dedicated to logging my food and water intake through the online tracker and that helps me a lot!

Day 4, I'd lost a total now of 5 pounds! I cannot say how happy I was and how good I felt! I can literally tell the difference. I feel lighter and I am already sleeping better and have more energy. My favorite bed shorts that have gotten a little snug untied, can now be tied!

Day 5 was VERY tempting. It was the 4th of July so of course I wanted a burger and potato salad. I caved and took a bite of each and skipped my regular Nutrisystem dinner. Can't say I was proud of myself though but we're all human.

I quickly went back to routine on Day 6. According to the scale I had lost weight and I was VERY happy about this! The food has been really good for the most part and I'm determined to do this!

Day 7 has now come and gone and I couldn't be happier about that! The week started off rough but ended up being okay. I am pleased that I stuck with it as much as I did and my goal is to do this too the end!

I can now eat 3 meals a day, a dessert, 4 Powerfuels, 3 Smartcarbs, and up to 3 extras. I made my weekly shopping trip and bought snack sizes of hummus and pretzels, cheese, fruits and veggies.

My total weight loss last week is: 6.4 pounds

BEFORE starting Fast5
AFTER finishing Fast5

I took my photos wearing the same clothing exactly one week apart. I wanted to be able to tell if there was any difference in the way my clothes looked/felt and/or my appearance. My shorts didn't feel near as snug today as they did this time last week. I am FULL of energy now just by losing those 6.4 lbs. What a difference a few pounds can make. Fast5 WAS hard, make no mistake about it, but in the end, I believe it will all be worth it.

If you didn't catch my first post, catch up here!

  1. I am not a morning eater either, and getting the water down is the hardest part of the program for me. Congrats on your loss. I was down over 4 lbs. so I'm a happy camper.

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...

Never Go Down Without A Fight: One Mom's Struggle to Fight CPS

Many people don't know a whole lot about my personal life. I normally keep things quiet and just post my reviews and go on about my day. I started this blog to do coupon match ups but quickly found that I liked doing reviews and hosting the amazing giveaways. It pretty much keeps my mind occupied from the struggles I face and have faced daily the past 4 years.  Four years ago (next month) I lost custody of my then 8 year old daughter. She had gone to her Dad's for a 2 week summer visit in July of 09. I let her go a few days early simply because we weren't doing anything big here at home, however I told them that she would probably be needing a visit to the the Dr by the next morning because she had just gotten into some poison ivy and it would probably be spread by the next morning, but if they were willing to take her, then she could come early. The two weeks came and went and I didn't hear much from anyone. They had taken a trip to Panama City Beach so I didn...
