HCG

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone naturally produced in the human body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. It is often referred to as the pregnancy hormone, but during pregnancy the levels double every two days. This hormone allows the body to metabolize stored fat and use it as energy for both mother and fetus. This acts as a “fail-safe” mechanism when energy is needed immediately. For weight loss, we use only a very small amount of HCG to capitalize on this same mechanism. Using HCG in this way does not mimic pregnancy; in fact, it can be safely used by both men and women.

The FDA approval for HCG use is for an extremely high dose and is given in a muscular injection which has significant risks. Most physicians use 35 units versus 5,000 units in a safer delivery form.

HGC is believed by some doctors to be about 80% effective in most patients but must be used in conjunction with a diet given to you by the injecting doctor. Most doctors weight-loss plans feature a rotating diet of 600 to 800 calories a day for two weeks followed by a week of 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day with protein calories not counting towards your daily total. This diet is high in protein and stresses that patients partake in minimal amounts of carbohydrates, starches and fatty foods and liquids, especially alcohol.

Patients are discouraged from consuming excess amounts of milk because of its estrone content, bananas because of an enzyme that prevents the body from losing fat, high-calorie fruits like raisins, grapes and figs and foods with high oil content like olives and avocados. Patients are also advised to stay completely away from sugary liquids like sweet tea and soft drinks.

HCG allows your body to reverse the effect that has kept you from losing the weight you’ve always wanted to lose. It is normal for the body to want to store and lock excess fat, and your body has a built in tendency to try to keep your present weight and prevent drastic changes. This is one reason why starvation dieting does not work, you tend to lose muscle mass and the not the fat that you really want to lose. Increasing HCG levels allows the body to target your locked fat reserve, release energy and lose weight at a more rapid pace.

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...
