Fagor America Tabletop Oven Review and Giveaway

Thanks to Fagor America for allowing me to review their Halogen Tabletop Oven free of charge for review on my blog.

I received my Halogen Tabletop Oven this morning via UPS and I already had a whole chicken waiting for the oven to arrive! Lucky for me the oven came with a recipe guide inside the user manual and there was a recipe there for Savory Roasted Chicken and I had all of the ingredients on hand so I gave it a shot. I will share the recipe at the end of the post but to get started I'll tell you a little more about the product.

The Halogen Tabletop Oven has a 12 qt. capacity, cooks up to 50% faster and is up to 75% more energy efficient than a conventional oven. The powerful halogen heating and convection system circulates heated air evenly around oven. It has an easy-to-clean glass body with two stackable cooking racks (Racks may be used independently or simultaneously), simple to use dial for timer and temperature settings.

Included Accessories:

•Two cooking racks; Upper & Lower.

•Tongs for lifting racks and foods from the oven.

•Stainless steel extender ring (adds an extra 5qt. capacity)

•Non-stick pan

This highly efficient and portable convection oven does the work of many appliances in one. A powerful internal fan circulates hot air to cook food uniformly and seal in natural juices for full flavor and aroma. I personally like the tabletop oven because it doesn't heat my home up like my conventional oven. I can still cook all of my favorite meals in the hot summer heat and enjoy the comfortable coolness of my home! The recipe possibilities are endless because this oven grills, bakes, broils, steams, and roasts! You can do anything from bake a cake to roast a chicken!

The recipe I used was the Savory Roasted Chicken

Serves: 4
Cooking Time: 1 Hr 5 min.

INGREDIENTS
1 whole chicken (about 4 pounds)
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
2 whole lemons that have been poked all over with a fork

DIRECTIONS
Rinse the chicken inside and out under cold water, pat dry using a paper towel.
In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice with oil and melted butter until blended, then rub all over the chicken and under the skin of the chicken breast.
Rub the inside and outside of the chicken with seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and cayenne (you can season the chicken under the skin also if desired). Place the lemons inside the cavity. Using cotton string, tie the legs together tightly.
Place chicken on low rack in oven, breast side down. Bake for 35 minutes at 400°F. Turn chicken over so breast side is up. Top oven with extender ring and bake an additional 30 minutes or until the temperature of an instant read thermometer registers 165°F when inserted into the thickest part of a thigh.

Cover with foil and let sit for 15 minutes before slicing.

The end result.... Delicious

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...
