Homemade Laundry Detergent

**This post contains affiliate links. I receive a small commission when you purchase anything through these links, at no extra cost to you**

I have been making my own laundry detergent for some time, but I wanted to give it somewhat of a twist. I had been making liquid but wanted to try some powder this time, Last week I had a crisis where I ran out of the Fels Naptha soap that I normally use to I substituted with Oil of Olay. The smell was amazing. So after browsing the laundry aisle at Wal-Mart I decided to go with the same products but adding a few more..

An entire box of:
and a bar of Oil of Olay Soap (grated)

I added the ingredients a little at a time and stirred as I went. When I had the entire list of products in the bucket, I picked it up and stirred it around really well. I then used the empty Purex Bottle and Oxi Clean container and filled it with the finished product. I have been using 2 TBSP per load and so far it's great! My clothes look just as well now as they did when I was using the name brand stuff! This soap does not suds since the products listed are stain boosters so don't be alarmed. It took me a while to get used to the fact that the homemade ones do not suds and at first I did catch myself using more than I should have.

This should last you quiet a long time

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...

Whisper Organics 100% Organic Cotton Flannel Sheet Set Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links.  I recently partnered up with  Whisper Organics  to do a review of their 100% Organic Flannel Sheets. Just in time for these cool Tennessee nights. These are by far the best bed sheets I've ever used!  Unlike other fabrics, flannel quality isn’t judged by thread count but by weight. The higher the GSM, the warmer and better quality the sheets. 170 GSM  is considered high-quality flannel and will be very warm, which is exactly what we needed!  I was sent these beautiful White sheets for my review.  The sheets are very durable. We struggled a little to get them on the bed since they were new but once we did, they've stayed put. Unlike some of the other sheets I have, a corner didn't pop off in the night when moving around.  There's nothing worse than jumping into a bed with cold sheets.  Unli...
