Let's Go To The Fair!

It's that time of year again! Kids are all heading back to school and we are finally getting ourselves back into a somewhat normal routine. Grocery lists have shrunk enabling us to put a little money back for the Tennessee State Fair! We have made the state fair a family event for as long as I can remember and it just gets better every year!

Did you know the Tennessee State Fair has been held every year (with the exception of the 4 year span during World War II) since 1906!! The fair has entertained Tennessee families for more than 100 years. It attracts more than 230,000 visitors annually.

TSF Apple Pie (homebox-noLottery)

There are some big things going on this year including the Tennessee Two-Crust Apple Pie Contest! (Seriously considering turning my Apple Dumpling Recipe into a pie form for this one!) Winner will receive $500 and the Tennessee State Fair Award! I don't know about you but I could definitely use that to put back into the grocery budget. Teenagers can EAT!

My four teens are most excited about the rides of course! I have yet to see a coaster that they will not get on. While my husband can't wait to get in on all the Funnel Cakes! Who doesn't like funnel cakes right? Me, I'm most excited about the memories to be made with my young family. I hope they will remember these days just like I did when I was a kid at the fair and continue the tradition with their families!

Kalorik Steam Mop Review and Giveaway Ends 1-26-13

I recently had the pleasure of working with  Kalorik  and do a review of their  Kalorik Steam Mop . This couldn't have came at a better time. I'm in the "New Year, New You" mode right now and there are lots of things I want to change. Harsh Chemical use is one of those things. The Kalorik Steam Mop works off of ordinary tap water! No detergents, soaps or chemicals needed! You can use the Kalorik Steam Mop to clean linoleum, ceramic tile, stone, marble, carpet, sealed hardwood, parquet and more! It's also very light weight and easy to use! I spoke with Kalorik via email on a Wednesday morning, and less than 48 hours my product arrived via FedEx! Two Thumbs Up! Upon arrival, it took all of 10 minutes to have it open, put together, and ready to use. It came with 2 small screws to attach the base to the actual cleaner, throw a microfiber pad on the base and we were ready to steam! I have hardwood flooring in my entire house so floor care is not something t...

Mabel's Labels Review

Signs of April receives free products for review purposes and may sometimes be compensated for posts. Posts may also contain affiliate (marketing) links. Thank you to  Mabel's Labels  for sending out their Name Label Gift Pack for us to review.  Labeling is pretty important this day in time. Especially when you have children in school.  Being organized and having everything labeled is very important in our home and even more important for her school items.  We were able to customize our labels, as you will as well. Emma, aka The Baby Child, LOVES any and everything Unicorn so that's what we went with.  Things are often very easily picked up and never returned because something wasn't labeled with a name. She's also very notorious for leaving things at school or on the bus, so these labels will be a game changer!  The Name Label Gift Pack comes with 25 labels which is more than enough to label her school items.  We labeled her lunchbox, ben...

Never Go Down Without A Fight: One Mom's Struggle to Fight CPS

Many people don't know a whole lot about my personal life. I normally keep things quiet and just post my reviews and go on about my day. I started this blog to do coupon match ups but quickly found that I liked doing reviews and hosting the amazing giveaways. It pretty much keeps my mind occupied from the struggles I face and have faced daily the past 4 years.  Four years ago (next month) I lost custody of my then 8 year old daughter. She had gone to her Dad's for a 2 week summer visit in July of 09. I let her go a few days early simply because we weren't doing anything big here at home, however I told them that she would probably be needing a visit to the the Dr by the next morning because she had just gotten into some poison ivy and it would probably be spread by the next morning, but if they were willing to take her, then she could come early. The two weeks came and went and I didn't hear much from anyone. They had taken a trip to Panama City Beach so I didn...
